I have been experiencing hypertension and tachycardia since 2017, and my GP was never concerned about it. After experiencing fainting spells despite having a normal blood sugar level, I presented myself to the ER. Upon explanation of my symptoms to Dr Chabot, she had asked me if I ever heard of a disease called POTS. I had actually been inquiring for a diagnosis for about a year with my GP. She ran the tests and was able to confirm and officially diagnose me with POTS. For years, I was told to “just exercise” or it’s “just stress”. I am extremely grateful for this woman; I was surprised to learn that she is not a cardiologist, but a GP; most GPs are unaware of what POTS is!
